About Us

We are SMART-TD General Committee 017, Located in California and Arizona. We are a broad-based, transportation labor union representing active members of SMART-TD formerly known as United Transportation Union (UTU).

General Committee of Adjustment GO-017 Represents Conductors, Brakemen, and Yardmen on the former Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company, now the BNSF Railway.

GO-017’s jurisdiction cover’s California terminals in Bakersfield, Barstow, Fresno, Los Angeles, Needles, Richmond, San Bernardino and Stockton. Our Arizona terminals include Phoenix, Winslow including Gallup NM a branch of Winslow.

The General Committee office handles claim grievances, discipline, agreement enforcement and construction of new agreements. These issues are progressed to our office via our Local Chairmen who work hard for their local membership.
